A key component of the Catalyst 4500 E-Series Switch is the innovative Cisco Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine 6-E, delivering industry-leading innovations to optimize unified networks using both existing classic and/or new high performance E-series line cards.
Features of the Catalyst 4500 E-Series Switch include:
- Higher performance: 320 Gbps and 250 mpps
- Increased capacity: 24 Gbps per slot and double the control plane resources
- Power over Ethernet (PoE): Up to 30W of PoE per port
- IPv4 and IPv6 (in hardware): Optimization for simultaneous IPv4/IPv6 deployment or migration
- Dynamic features and user configurability: Security and quality-of-service hardware resources with 8 queues per port
- Cisco TwinGig Converter Module: Upgrade from gigabit Ethernet (GbE) to 10 GbE in seconds
